About this video
This video assumes you are already logged into the Sketchanet editor and have a page open for editing. To learn how to do this see here.
How to apply styling
To modify your existing text styles, click on EDIT TEXT STYLES in the text controls panel. This will open up the text styles editor as can be seen in the above video. There are a lot of settings and you can quickly get to know what each one does by experimenting.
It is very important to be aware that making a change to a text style will affect all of the text that uses that style throughout the site. This feature is very much by design - imagine you have a 50 page site and you want to change the body text. You certainly don't want to have to apply the changes on every page independently. So while at first it may seem inconvenient to not be able to quickly change a bit of text independently, it will save you a lot of time in the long run.
If you do want to style a small amount of text differently, just create a new style and use that. You can create as many styles as you like, and you can remove these at a later date if you need to tidy things up.
Font Family and Font Weight
Sketchanet comes with instant access to around 800(ish) Google Fonts. The quickest way to work out which ones to use in your site is to head over to https://fonts.google.com and browse the numerous options. When you have a font you like, make a note of the name, and then back in Sketchanet you can select that name from the list of font families.
With regard to font weight, this is a measure of how bold or light / thin a font is. It is measured in scale from 100 through to 900, with 100 being very light / thin and 900 being very bold. Please be aware that almost none of the Google fonts have different weights covering all of these 9 settings, some have different weights for 3 or 4 of the options, some only 1 or 2. Try out the font weights and look at the preview text to see the difference if any.
It is safe to say that you can make significant changes to the aesthestic of your website by carefully selecting font families and weights.
